Publishers take ResearchGate to court, alleging massive copyright infringement
"Scholarly publishing giants Elsevier and the American Chemical Society (ACS) have filed a lawsuit in Germany against ResearchGate, a popular academic networking site, alleging copyright infringement on a mass scale. The move comes after a larger group of publishers became dissatisfied with ResearchGate’s response to a request to alter its article-sharing practices."

This was just a matter of time.

The Protege Truth
Somewhere I found this blog post about what the writer calls the The Genius Fallacy.
I would like to add one thing, namely that one needs to be a protégé(e). Often enough one can see that colleagues achieving something do so, because of more or less heavy support - in particular behind the scenes. And maybe what the author describes influences how the 'mentor' chooses his or her protégé(e).
A somehow related, recent article was about the stories behind a CV. Somehow there seems to be a trend among academics to admit how hard and struggling career is.

Btw: the author also wrote about the structured procrastination trap (which I did not reead).
